    Good free RamDISK software

Anyone know where to grab a Windows 7 x64 capable RAMDISK driver? I want a 1GB RAMDISK so my PS3 Eye and FRAPS can record full speed. Unfortunately all the one's I've tried dont work for Win 7 x64.

It's pretty important it has to be free and easy to use (alot of the tutorials I've found lately are totally unreadable. Skipping steps and just overall bad instructions). If there is no easy to use software but still free, then maybe post some quick instructions here on how to get it up and running. Thanks!

I know for sure the x64 version from ramdisk.tk works on Win7 x64. Never used the free version before, but it should support Win7 x64 with 1GB.
I've been using it since Win2003 days, best commercial RAMDisk software out there.

If you need don't feel like paying $12 for the full version w/o time limit, let me know through PM.

I actually downloaded eBooster. While a Ramdisk is sweet for its raw speed, I dont have enough ram to make it useful. eBooster prevents direct writing to the harddrive, and uses an allocated amount of RAM to store files temporarily (just like a RAM Disk). Difference is, the instant it has anything on it, it sends it to the harddrive, so FRAPS can record stupidly fast, and eBooster sends it to the HDD in the background as fast as it's interface will allow. Still, 6.4GB/s on any form of drive is just... rediculous. I may look at grabbing some fast RAM and a RAMDisk controller. I saw one that fits in the 5-1/4" bay with 8 DDR2 slots, 32GB and it has built in RAID. Problem is HD Tune shows my current RAMDisk at 3200 mbps peak, this RAMDisk controller peaked out a bit higher than Intel's revised X25.

I might try this with the extra 2GB of RAM that I never seem to fill up. Could be fun

2GB should be great. Running it with 1GB my PC could record 3:50 of 1280x720 @ 60fps full frames uncompressed, problem is after that 4:30 my RAM is full and so it bogs down to normal HDD speeds. It really only helps with programs that need to write alot of data fast. 1.6GB in 3:50 is crazy speeds I think.

Only problem is if you have a RAM Disk that is >256MB and loads/unloads data at start up and shut down it significantly increases boot/shutdown times.
