hope this doesn't mean that I need to buy a new mobo

So far the GUI BIOS only looks clumsier. Prettier, but clumsier. A simple + or - is really all you need to change a value. Some of the features on my current board pop up a box where you manually type in a value (RAM timings for example).

Why fix it if it's not broken?

    • Intel X25-M 80GB // X-Fi XtremeGamer
    • CM HAF 932 // Water // Corsair TX850
    • HTC Incredible, PMF rom 1.2 (Android 2.1)

IIRC, EFI is not BIOS, and it would be impossible to just slap EFI onto a BIOS motherboard like the P5QE. My guess is they just made a GUI for normal BIOS.

MSI had a trial for a motherboard in asia recently, basically the mobo was your standard one, with EFI instead of a bios.

Actually afro, I am sure it is possible to remove the bios and replace it with an EFI.

anyways you guys might remeber this link Msi trials efi bios replacement - The Inquirer

Also, they should remove the mouse for the asus one, just use the keyboard and have a snazzy looking bios.
