AnandTech: Corsair TX750W Review
AnandTech: Corsair TX750W Power Supply
Quote:
Compared to other Corsair offerings, the TX750W is simply not up to snuff. The previously tested HX1000W was an excellent power supply, but that power supply uses a different topology. We also received an HX520W recently and that power supply performs very well -- it's a Seasonic-built unit. Pricing may be the one saving grace, however.
The TX750W has been in the market for a while, so the price is quite a bit lower than the MSRP. In the US, we have seen the TX750W for $100 to $130, which is a fair price for a 750W power supply. Prices in Europe start at €95, which equals $130 but includes tax. With an average price of $115, the Corsair TX750W is one of the cheapest 750W offerings on the market. The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 runs around $135 and the Cooler Master Real Power Pro costs $140. However, even with savings of $25 over some of the competition, there are plenty of other options in this price and performance range.

Kind of a depressing review.

I don't feel that Corsair needed to make things difficult for consumers by joining the "value" PSU market Now we have to sort them out when we recommend PSUs to noobs, can't just say "Get a Corsair/PCp&C/Seasonic"

Hmm....guess Corsair has dropped quality down some in the last year since JonnyGuru's excellent review. Puzzling.
....and just for kicks, PCP&C FTW!!!

I hate you all.... recommending the Corsair to me... now I have an inefficient PSU.
DEATH TO YOU ALL!
Actually I don't care... it was under $100, plenty of power and is still solid. Not the best, clearly, but it'll work.
Anyone want to buy it?
Then I can pull the FSP back to the main rig and get a Modular for my HTPC.

Works just fine with a severely OC'd Q and 4870's so it can't be that bad of a PSU.

Yeah, it is still a good unit (CWT innards) that is still in the top tier of PSU's obviously...just the idea that even Corsair is budgeting back and straying from Seasonic innards is disheartening

Like I said, CWT innards are still top of the line but if you read the whole post you get the idea

Seasonic FTW! All of my PSU's (Corsair and SeaSonic) have contained SS internals.

I'm happy with my CWT made VX550, though I haven't really gotten a chance to stress it yet. I have no games on the system and no GPU to play said games.
