Apparently my system shouldn't even be alive
If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks, killing everyone inside.

Now it just needs the 3870's.

Strangely, it's convinced that my Opty uses 202 watts! (@2.9/1.44v)
That doesn't seem possible, because the entire system maxes out at 225w F@H.

Must be like the recent 45nm Intel chip. It's rated for 130 watts, but uses far less then that. Must be going by the official rating by the companies.

I would imagine. It would be a b*tch to update the whole thing with actual consumption figures, especially since there is no methodology standard across the hundreds of tests on different platforms etc.

Either way, I'd rather have it estimate high then low.

It's the MAX usage.. You'll never get that even in extreme usage.. As that is using 100% of the cache etc and the processor running all 1 operations.. Which never happens.

You don't want to run a PS at 100% in the first place. Having a 20 to 30% headroom is a very good idea.
