Much after the hype...
I went to BestBuy and there happened to be 5 Wii's left on the shelf. My wife pointed them out and I walked out with one. She had played previously, while I had never touched one.
Let me tell you, the 360 and Playstation have not been on since! My wife plays it all the time which is amazing as she rarely touches the other consoles.
What's funny is they still sell for $300+ on ebay. When we called back to see if they had anymore, they were gone. They sold all 18 of them in 2 days.

That's not surprising at all.
Give it a few months. I've gone back to playing my XBOX 360 and PC the most of the 4 (Wii and PS3 included).
Don't get me wrong, the Wii isn't bad. But they have very few games that aren't too kiddish as well I could only play Zelda for 2 hours before I got tired of aiming and waving my arms around
Sadly, I play more GameCube games on the Wii than Wii games

Yeah really. Wii sucks. It gets old after 3 weeks.

Same here. Unfortunately my XB360 is dead now and Fony bricked my PoS3 with the limpware update, so I'm down to just the PC and Wii. The Wii still hasn't been turned on since the 360 died, I've just been using the PC more.

Wii is fun with a bunch of people over (especially if they've been partying) but the single player aspect does get old fast.

That sucks. My PS3 still works after the update... so far, as well as the Wii and PS3 have been the only reliable consoles thus far

The way I've always viewed Nintendo was friends/family oriented. Has been since they released Nintendo IMHO. The GameBoy, cuts it close to being the only console that isn't entirely family oriented.

I'm sure the Xbox 360 will always be a mainstay until something better comes out. I love that thing.

After the Gameboy line died, and Nintendo created the DS, they've been focused on the party games there too, focusing on their wi-fi and online capabilities. The Wii is a great console for parents to buy their kids, but not for the hardcore single player. Meh. We've all heard that before, hate to beat that stupid dead horse...

Our Wii is still getting a reasonable amount of use. Typically, we run ~40% PC gaming and 20% each for the 360, Wii and PS3.

Well, I have no 360 or PS3, just the Wii and PC.
There are a couple of great single player titles for the Wii. Metroid, Mario, Zelda, No More Heros, Okami to name a few. While these are great, my Wii is mainly used for parties (sounds so terrible). We have Smash Bros, MarioKart, Sports, Mario Party, Guitar Hero 3(soon 4) and a Sonic game that are awesome with 4 or more people.

One roommate beat Zelda and the other roommate who owned the Wii sold it. I think he said he got more then $200 for it at a game shop.
The 100 pin Wii bowling is fun as heck.

Wii is a great party system, but meh on the single player aspect. And personally I find Rock Band a better party game anyway, and with the PS3's better game library that clinched it for me.

Yeah. I have this emo fatass neighbor that waited in line for a Wii on lauch day. It sucks hardcore in single player. I think PS2 would be more fun.

I think you and he should do some Wii Sports boxing without the Wii.

I play my Wii mostly with other people, but I did lose much time playing Zelda and Super Mario Galaxy.
I can't find Wii Mario Kart for crap, neither the Wii Fit (don't laugh).
But the XBOX 360 has logged more time, in single player (and Rock Band), but the Wii is great for parties and just plain drunkenness gaming. LOL

No, he's a nice kid...
Just pisses me off, if he's gonna be the emo gamer type, at least get a hardcore gaming machine or learn about computers... He wants to be a video game programmer yet he knows basically nothing about computers...
