It died last night.
So, it's not the RROD, but it is a hardware failure. M$ informed me of that last night when I called them. Errors E71 and E79, and also the screen freezes almost instantly after turning it on. I get one Red light on the lower right quadrant.
I'm not sure what to do... sell it for parts and get an updated one I suppose. MSFT wants $100 to fix it and I'm sure it will happen again. Many people I know that have had problems have had multiple problems, even after using the MSFT warranty/non-warranty services.
I knew I should have gotten a PS3

My 360 and PoS3 are both dead. The 360 works for about a minute then locks hard, the PoS3 got bricked by Fony's firmware upgrade but was dying even before that, the GPU was artifacting badly after about half an hour in any game. I think I'll just stick to my PC.

It was probably from folding 24/7 on it.
My PS3 still works
More reliable than my XBOX 360 thus far
But I agree, PC FTW!

I thought the 360 warranty for 3 year was only for the RRoD.

Yes, the 3 year warranty does only apply to the RROD. This is not what happened to mine, therefore MicroShaft denied the vaseline.

My XBOX 360 hasn't crapped out on me, yet. And I hope it won't. It even lived through 2 nasty power bumps.
Sorry to hear about the problems. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Cause it to RROD on your own... there is bound to be some way that you can do it.

Well, the poorly-applied solder won't fix itself...
