XBOX beats PS3 in Japan

It might not mean that much, but the XBOX 360 did beat the PS3 in Japan, due to an upcoming RPG called "Tales of Vesperia".

Now, I tried the demo, and it's okay, but I really don't like the anime type RPG, but the "full action" combat is interesting.

But the Wii still kicked both their butts, again.

If it's done well, I like cell animation. If it's not done well, it's horrible.
I haven't seen this particular game yet to know which camp it falls into.

To be honest - it looks like one of those anime type cartoon shows with the BIG eyed characters. The game play seemed pretty straight forward, but I didn't know how the combat was done, so I kept dying. LOL.

I'm sure it could be a decent RPG, but the style is something I would need to get use to. Not saying it's bad, but I'm not a huge fan of the BIG eyed anime characters. LOL

And gameplay video:
Wolf Battle

Actually the cell shading in that looks pretty good. As for anime styling, it seems you either like it or hate it. I'm not even sure it's something that can grow on you.

I think it looks pretty good actually, and I'm not a fan of RPGs.

I would definitely fall in the "hate it" camp on anime styling. I don't mind "cartoony" necessarily (if it fits the game - no cartoons in horror games please) so long as it's not exaggerated like the eyes are in this.

Damn, I remember reading a couple years back that the XBOX wouldn't be able to get any kind of market share in Japan. Way to go Microsoft.

Would that be those who were around for the "lets marry an anime character" moment?
