Exclamation Folding@Home HARDWARE DONATION - PUT YOUR UNUSED PARTS TO GOOD WORK!

Do you have access to cheap, or even FREE electricity?

Do you have spare computer parts lying around collecting dust?

Would you like to put them to good use?

How about let's FOLD on them!

If you are willing to donate electricity, or equipment please post in this thread. We will use this space to coordinate electricity/hardware donations.

    Rules

    Donating Electricity
    1) Fold as much as you possibly can (24/7 is ideal). This is critical. If you feel you cannot fold constantly, please allow someone that can to claim the hardware and give it a good home.
    2) The points are yours. As a reward for giving a folding machine a home, you get to lay claim to all the points that it produces.
    3) What happens if you stop folding? The hardware needs to be sent to someone that can continue to fold.

    Donating Hardware
    1) You are donating your spare hardware to the cause. There is no reclaiming it after it has been donated.
    2) Shipping, obviously this is not going to be free, so we should coordinate our efforts to minimize shipping costs. USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes are your best friend, especially if you are shipping multiple items.

We will maintain a list of available hardware and hardware adopters here:
XCPUs Folding@Home HARDWARE DONATION - Xtreme CPU Wiki

    Thanks, and FOLD ON!!!!

Hmm, being at a college apartment with free electricty from September to May I'd be in for the electricity part.

Hmmm, I should also check and see if my dad claimed my old P4 Dell....

Brent, if you can figure out the model of the Zalman Cooler, I may be interested. I am looking to get rid of the stock cooler on the E7200, but I don't want something as massive as the Thermalright.

    I'll find out. It's an all-copper variant from a S478 P4.

Just to be clear, the machine that the cooler would go in needs to be a folder that isn't currently in service. Preferably one w/ PCI-E slot(s) so we can toss in some NV cards and get some good PPD out of it.

Hmm, ok then. both the old Dell and my current system couldn't use that cooler then. If I can snake the Dell from home, it has a PCI-E slot, but a crappy 300-350 watt PSU. Be good for a standard client plus a midrange NV card.

What socket X2? Would a single core work? The GPU is the main point producer.

it would be going into a Asus M3A78-EM mAtx i think that a single core might work.

I think the E4300 is around.

Looks like what we need now are some cheap S775 mobos.

Socket AM2 board. Hrm, we can probably find something cheap for that, but it will have to be a dual core b/c I don't think singles come in AM2.

Hey Brent. You should keep the first or second post updated with a list of all parts available. Otherwise, this will become a jumbled mess of posts and nobody will know what's available and what's been taken. Maybe make a wiki post in the thread that anyone can update.

I can fold with graphics cards, but I don't think I could handle another rig.

I have an 8500GT for donation that could go into a spare rig, but it probably won't do very well without active cooling.
