Hey it was open all day anyone could have walked in and done it I just did the research to find it and make the buy. In fact I tested it first because I wasn't sure it would go through but when it did I bought all I could before the bell rang otherwise I could have made at least another $13M with the cash I had on hand.

Both Marketwatch and Yahoo listed the price as $.01 (down -99.89% which is usually a BK) the Google guys had it at $8.99 which is what got me investigating. When I checked investopedia it was $.01 so I bought 99999 shares and figured it wouldn't execute until today and then bounce and for $19.99 I'd learn it didn't work. When it went through I was stunned as I knew I'd just made $900K so when I recovered I bought all I could before the bell rang and ran out of time before $ I even mistyped one and forgot one 9 (that mistake cost me $800K)and thats why the goofy number of shares I wasn't checking just banging them through fast and furious.

You f'd the game setup as you can set a minimum share price you are allowed to buy. For the future a minimum stock price should be set at $1.00 so people aren't allowed to buy millions of shares of a supercheap stock and blow straight into the lead in the game. In fact nearly all the big money made in the game has been with sub $1 stocks. Wuzy made his million on DTG going from $.77 to $2.00 the next day and now he's been beaten down nearly $200K. So how is that different than my making $8M by going from $.01 to $9.00 the next day just a bit more leverage in the equation? In fact I've lost almost a half million by not selling out after the jump this morning (talk about punishment!!).

At issue is limiting a starting share price to prevent having such large leverage which should have been restricted by whoever starts the game. If going forward we change the rules that's fine but the only way anyone will catch up now will be to trade millions of shares of super cheap stocks.

We're half way and now everyone knows what to look for so it could be an interesting finish with a couple multi-millionaires.

Could you have pulled that off in real life? Made millions off the same pricing error?

Had someone fubared it the brokerage would have reversed the transaction at the point of sale and credited my account for the transaction fees. The automatic computer account auditing would have caught it today when the account value changes 1400% and reversed the transactions as well. The pricing error was not on every system as Google listed the correct price. Apparently it was Yahoo, Investopedia, and Marketwatch which must use a common service that had the error.

BE I was just giving you greif man.. You used the tools available and were within the capabilities..

You will likely be the winner now.. All you will have to do is invest in a Util or something stable and not lose too much..

My problem is the game does have a minimum.... wait a second. It used to have one and I thought I reduced it to $.50. Hmmm some how it did get disabled.

Interesting.

Well. Play on.

I knew you were. It's just a game and apparently it's got some problems besides the useless stop/limit orders.

In the future we need to knock out all the sub $1 stocks. Usually the issue with $1 stocks is they are high risk but since it's just a game and how much you lose isn't relevant thus the "risk part" is zero. I did say it would be entirely different without skin in the game. The game is therefore skewed in favor of cheap shares with massive quantities and the way to eliminate that leverage is to put in a bottom share price during the setup. This happened to ba glitch in the system I found and exploited. It's no different than the glitch that has cost me $10's of thousands in stop loss sales that don't execute at until 20 minutes after it plumets through the stop loss amount.

As you say unless someone else makes a similar find I've got it pretty well locked up even with substantial losses (Wuzy thought he was coasting to the finish too though). Of course I could go ask Tool for a stock tip he seems to have a special talent for that.

Who knows somebody may make a bundle on another $.01 stock glitch and blow the game apart again.

I'm not going to change it but the options were set differently than I remembered.

My fault, no one elses.

Remember around a month ago with Google?
The people who bought in when that glitch happened were forced to refund.

I've just been really busy recently to hunt for penny bargains.
