I'm actually above the max match.
Opening a Roth would be the next step once my cash cushion gets to the proper balance. You really don't want to get stuck with little cash cushion and no job. It shouldn't happen to an accountant... but you never know.

I think this oil shock has really opened people's eyes to our global exposure. It isn't the fact that we are dependent on foreign oil (which is a legitimate concern) but the fact that we are in an increasingly global economy. What helps us hurts another. What hurts us helps another. We will have to get to the real heart of issues if we are all to survive this without a depression.
Oil kinda triggered this shock and the housing market exacerbated it but in the end we are all hosed as it.
Disposable income, the driver for most of the US GDP, is being absorbed faster than a drunk man at a bar can spill his drink.

Why in the world do you spend $1200 on tires for a street car? Thats insane.
Even my track tires are only $200 a piece. You're crazy.

285/40/18 run 291 a piece, 255/45/18 are 250ish and that is for the value tire BFGoodrich TDA KW. so $600 + 500 + install = ~$1200.

Too bad stored gasoline goes stale unless you use a stabilizer. Then your car gets worse milage. Meh, it's a no win.

Why??? So you'll be really pissed off when it goes below $40? I heard a comment this morning on Bloomburg about $20/bbl oil, I hope it was a joke though.

Now my little Hyundia is killing me. When the price was going up i was was running off cheaper gass not having to fill up but only once a month. Now as prices drop below $2 a gallon i'm still on half a tank of $2.35 a gallon gas.
It was about a year or 2 ago that i said we would never see the price of gass below $2.50. Boy am i glad to be eating those words now. Now if only it will go as low as $1.20. That was the price i was paying about 8 or 9 years ago.
The lower it goes the better. So long as when it starts going up again, and it will, it doesn't shoot up fast as it did this past summer.
