Hmm, glad I don't have to buy 285 tires for 18" rims. Why do they charge you so much for the mount and balance though?
Where'd you get $500 to mount? He said one set costs him $250 a tire x 2 = $500. The other set runs him $291 a tire x 2 = $600 (rounding). + installation = $1200. So about $100 to mount

Well the other $100 is for install + road hazzard protection which you must have in Houston. Way too much construction going on to get away without it.

I can't go with anything cheaper tirewise because I can tell the difference in traction. I went with one set of Kumah's (or whatever the exact spelling is) and I felt ripped off.

The same TDA KW installed on my IS (215/45/17) run a hair under $200 a tire so size does matter.

Well at $2.43g for 91 out here in SoCal that is better than what we were paying in the summer.I find myself taking the Saleen out more on the weekends.

One thing I did notice the last month while filling up at a 76 station was when I pulled away I noticed a ping.I looked at my receipt made sure I put 91 in it and yes I did.So I'm driving to Auto Zone to get some fuel treatment, put it in and the ping was gone. This led me to think with gas prices so low are the refineries giving us bad gas?

Haven't filled up from that station since though.Being using Chevron and ping less ever since.

Its roughly $5.33/gallon here.... But I guess you could argue that's because we have 95 octane minimum... And something like a 50% tax on fuels.

It was WAY more than that just a few weeks ago.. Only just got under £1/litre here again.

It must suck to live in Europe for those of us who drive a lot and drive gas eating cars

I remember I told my grandpa in Germany that I got a new car. He asked me what size engine I had. I told him it was a 2.2L and he was shocked. To him, that's huge!

Europe is cheap compared to England. And 2.2L isn't huge. We can just get power from engines... Rally cars use 2l engines.

Whats the max octane you guys have over there?

If you look real hard at some of the 76 stations out here you can find 103.

Yeah, but look at the Z06 and Viper SRT/10. Z06 = 7L and the SRT/10 = 8.3L.

Your average V8 in the US is 4.6L to 6.2L
My vehicles are 2.4L 4Cyl, 3.4L V6 and 3.8L V6 so I'm in the middle as far as it goes. Hondas in the US typically have 1.8L to 2.2L engines and they're among the smallest not including old VW's and the Smart cars.

I really don't know where I'm going with this post.

Oh and Max octane around here is 93.
