Who Wants to Compete in FW This Time?

Since MeltDown is really busy a few of us in the SB thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to determine who wants to compete in the FW this time around. There's just a few weeks until the FW start, August 1st.

Those who want to compete, please list your username and the rig you'll be using in FW. If you want to list a second rig, feel free to do so. We have no idea if they'll be needed or not, that's up to whoever creates the teams.

    Use the following format:

    Username
    CPU
    Memory
    Video Card(s)
    Motherboard
    Cooling Type
    Operating System(s)

    I'll go first.

    Mandrake
    i7 920
    12GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1333
GeForce GTX 260 SLI (two cards)
    ASUS P6T
Air cooling. Noctua NH-U12P on CPU, stock cooling on video cards.
    Win7 RC1 x64 and XP Pro 32bit

Note: I can remove the 9600GSO physx card, if needed, so that I can be in the 2 gpu limit class.

edit: I don't think I'll be using the 9600GSO since none of the benches being used work with it. Just tested 3dmark06 and saw no difference. Also, I may use 2gb Patriot DDR2-1150 ram instead.

    Thanks for helping out Mandrake.

A couple things to remember here:

Core i7s are only allowed in the top 3 classes (including unlimited cooling class) so we still need lots of C2D/C2Q/Ph II systems for the other 3 classes.

Please please please actually do the benching if you sign up. It's really embarassing seeing all the zeros and people standing on their stock scores, not to mention unjust to your teammates who actually do make the effort. Yes we all know real life happens (I know that very well trust me) but our past performance on that front has been abysmal.

I've got the i7 920 and my QX9650 and the Xn 3110 available to fill out whatever classes need people. My 920 is kind of a dud so I'd rather have people with D0s competing in the i7 classes instead of me.

    AMD PHII 940 BE
    Either 4gb 1066 Kingston or 2gb Geil D9's
    AMD 4890
    DFI 790FXB-M2RSH
    Water (Possibly DICE)
    XP

Geil D9's don't want to play nice with the PHII, so we'll see if I can convince them to work. If you need a "sacrificial lamb" to throw in the UX class, I'll DICE this puppy and see what she can do. There's no way I can actually compete in that class, so if I'm needed elsewhere, I'll run water.

    Thats worth repeating
I didn't even participate last run because of the zeros from previous fw's
this really hurts the team effort

    Geekbench (32bit version only)
    3d01
    3d06
    Super Pi
    Cinebench

Nice quick set of benches this time. 3d01 and 06 combined take under 20 minutes, super pi is ~10 seconds, Geekbench is about 1 minute, and Cinebench is under 5.

Does that count for the server Nehalem parts as well?

Geekbench comes with both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions - the 32-bit version works fine in 64-bit Windows. The 64-bit version isn't free.

Yes. Nehalem has such a huge advantage on Geekbench and Cinebench that they wanted to limit the architecture from stomping all others.

The last time I participated in FW (about 2 years ago) I was in the A class anyway for some reason, and I had a San Diego on air.

Pretty sure I'll just watch this one as well.

    E8600 (air)
    2GB Buffalo Firestix PC6400 (D9GKX)
    GTX 275 (stock air)
    Biostar Tpower I45
    Assorted OSes

Going all air so I can compete (and I'm guessing do very well) in the E class. Just need to find a good air cooler now since all I have is a DICE pot and a stock heatsink
