I'm beginning to think that extra power phases are the new "hip" thing to have....the benefit is very little, and they add more cost to the board. I find it comparable to clothes: it costs more if it says Abercrombie and Fitch on it, but it's "cool" to have.
I run a 4 phase board, and I've hit 4.1ghz on it with my power hungry Q6600.

It's all gimmicks, like 8 layer DT boards. Currently, beyond 6 is a waste of money. Or boards with massive heatsinks and pipes, when at most, the NB and southbridge won't get hot enough to warrant more than a fan, even when overclocking.

Curious, what was the V-droop on it? If it can match my IP35 pro at the very least, I am sold and will consider this board for sure if I decide to convert to a M-ATX setup.

The closer two electrical signals are to each other, the more chance there is for them to steal electrons from another or otherwise disrupt proper flow. Adding more layers to the PCB opens up more room for engineers to make more wires in the PCB and make them farther apart.

I glanced at the article once, and didn't think too much at first. Then I read it again, and remembered hearing about it on the shoutbox, and I started to salivate. If the raffle doesn't does go in my favor, in a couple months I might just have to do a little bit of upgrading. Great review, and looking forward to the BIOS tweaking article.

LanParty Jr P45 T2RS and dual 4870X2's
Is there any other testing you would like to see done on the LanParty Jr P45 T2RS?

Nice review like you always do Korben. lol at how the gpu's take up half the mobo. You say "Stay tuned for an indepth look at overclocking this magnificient motherboard!" are you going to compare oc on that board to oc on another mobo? I think that would be helpful so people know how it fares in oc compared to other mobos.

Thanks, jplum. I will have some comparison data to put in the review. I'll be using a QX9650 and an E8400 in both the motherboards I'll be comparing.
