5.5GHz windows stable under water? Sheeyit son! And honestly, if Intel claims it can hit 7GHz, I have no doubts it will.

    It should, E8600's can hit up to 6.7Ghz or so so 670 x 10.5 = 7035

I was hoping they would make an unlocked E8xxx but this still looks awesome. I want to see some dice on this baby Tool! It's so sexy it makes me cry tears of joy. Is intel selling them yet?

I can't believe they actually decided to make this! Maybe I should trade my e8400 in for one...

Eh. It's a little late in the game IMO. But, they have the silicon for it...may as well do something with it.

Why not? Really, AMD can't compete with this very well. Unless they start selling dual core (not disabled quad) Phenom II's, Intel is holding out on market share here. And besides, this allows everybody to upgrade systems that have older CPUs in them for a much lower price than it would cost to upgrade the entire system. Besides, what can't a 3.5ghz C2D do?

It is pretty certain that it will just replace E8600 in the price bracket and the other Wolfies will get bumped down a notch.

That just means that all the other wolfies get cheeper... Which isn't a bad thing.
