HD4850; now or later?

I want to get a couple of 4850s, one for me and one for a friend. His parents are now in the USA and will be back for Christmas so from now to then, I have to get the best deal on the best 4850 possible. What I don't have is an insight of the market, how will the prices be after the whole 4xxx lineup is complete.
For now I have my eyes on this:
Newegg.com - ASUS EAH4850 TOP/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
$150 after MIR, 680MHz OC over stock 625 and 2100MHz GDDR3 over stock 2000 is always good in a card that is a bit bandwidth limited. Anyway, my dilemma is buy now or wait; simple logic tells me that prices will still go down the next 2 months but will it really happen?!

Do you want to wait 2 months? Buy the Goddamned card and enjoy it!

Please, read all the post; I can only get it after 2 months because I don't leave in the USA. If I got it here, they would probably be like $300 each.

Sorry, that part confused me.

get it now... you want to know why the price goes down on things, because all new stuff is comeing out, meaning new games are coming out. basicly dont get stuff when its supper cheap or you will never enjoy it...

seriously some people have had sli 8800gtx for 2+ years and still dont really need to upgrade... you know why they did that? to enjoy it. not wait and get an out dated card for cheap then realize in 1 month it's a POS... EVERY ONE knows how that feels when your 9800xt just became a relic, or your brand new 7900gs got demolished by the 8800gtx/gts that came out a month after u bought it (me). BUY IT NOW

I would wait as long as you can. The prices are only going to go down, not up, and who knows, some better bang for buck card may be released before now and when your friends parents come back up. Although, does NewEgg not deliver to Canada now? or is shipping high?

P.S.- Ignore RKH and Afro, evidently reading comprehension isn't something they grasp very well.

Yeah, i totally agree with TSI. Wait as long as you can. By Christmas the prices will surely go down. Like he said, may a better bang-for-buck card be released.

Good luck.

Well, all tech goes down in price over time so you might as well just wait until the first week of december to start looking at prices, who knows, maybe a 4870 will fit the bill by then

I hope so, anyway, think will still be a good, cheap 4850 than a 4870 because if after 2 months I'll be after a 4870, that will have to be a 1GB. I also have to think about a new monitor and even a new CPU if AMD releases anything decent on the CPU front, so I'll probably get something more powerful when the 5xxx series is out

It bottoms out till production stops, then it goes up. Example: the socket 478 CPU's I've been selling all summer And...DDR memory!

But +1 for TSI's post, it'll come down toward the end of their stay here
