New Project (Xtreme GPU Database)

I had an idea and I am going for it. Going to write an Article that will serve as a GPU database. Red for the red team and Green for the green team. Also will be including past players. This is the idea:

Thoughts?

Not my call on whether it'll get published or not, but I think it's a decent idea. Not to say that it hasn't been done and redone time and time again, but hell, why not.

Is there a purpose really? Not to offend your willingness to do something worthwhile, but every review nowadays has something like this - waste of time IMO.

It could be a waste of time for some me if no one uses it. But I think it makes a great place to store the information we get from our reviews.

Like a quick reference guide of sorts. I may be wrong

Well, now that I think of it, you would be grouping info from around a thousand reviews since 2006 in one table, so go for it!

yup yup, just make sure you pick a red and green that actually work with our color scheme(ie, not that one)

are you going to include all the versions of cards or just the reference cards from ATI/nVidia (ie the 18 different clocks of 8800GT from eVGA for example..)?

I actually think this is a great idea.

With more and more cards being folding-capable, I've more than once wanted to have a reference where I could find clocks/shaders/etc.

I've been working on a database of F@H capable cards, their clocks, and their estimated PPD for the F@H page

We could incorporate that into the GPU database

A whole page or two dedicated to F@H average performance (PPD).

Sounds like a cool idea. Not many sites have constantly updated large databases like this one planned.

Is there another red you can use? With Tren-z, that red maks my eyes want to bleed. The green on the other hand looks good.

Elmo, just a quick note: images aren't searchable, and you can't copy and paste text from inside of them. If you want google hits you'd make this as much text as possible.

Also, if you could make a selectable menu, maybe the way Tom's GPU charts were at first (when they were actually good) Also, including default 3DMark Scores and Folding Numbers would help generate more hits. I know that adds a good bit a work, but ya gotta think big! We got enough smart people here to help you out!
