    Raid 0+1 questions

I recently tried raid 10 but for some reason Intel matrix storage wouldn't let me select raid 10.
I was under the impression 0+1 supported two identical drives
also Windows7 didn't need raid drivers or accept the floppy raid drivers I tried
    I ended up raid 0
    I know ....
volatile, but it took less than an hour to build the array and install win7 ultimate so if you can steer me in the right direction I'll try it again.
In case you need the info

1X 160gb Seagate backup drive non raid

RAID 0+1 requires four drives, not two.

    lol. Noob!!!

just kidding. But RAID 10 is basically a mirrored array of stripped drives.

    Thats what I wanted
the performance of raid 0 with the redundancy of raid 1
oh well I have plenty of back up disk space

You're probably thinking of Intel Matrix RAID where you can divide an array consisting of two drives into RAID 0 and RAID 1.

Yes I believe that was it
two drives split into 4 partitions.
I read it quite some time ago on the Intel site.
I'll have to dig that up because Its not clear what the requirements actually are

looking forward to this guide too. it would be great to try this on since 4 hdds for raid 10 are too expensive for me
