That mod looks great. Much better than mine. Maybe something to consider when I get my new PSU.

Ok to get this thread back on track i'll be trimming out all the excess fat from the thread. The objective here is to have a nice organized thread about the mod. You guys can take your discussion to another thread.

Right now I'm working out a mod that eliminates the need for the stock HDD cages. While you can always use 5.25" to 3.5" bay adapters I'll be modding the case. If you look at the bottom of the case in the drive bay area you will see some holes and dimples.

As you can see these are in the same position at the dimples and rivets of the side wall of the drive bay area. In fact that row in the middle lines up perfect to fit a HDD in. I'll cut a section of the bottom right side out and attach it to that row.

As you can see I'll be leaving behind the front most holes so that the Drive bay covers can be attached. The plastic housing the fan sits in can be popped off the HDD cage and still be used in those bottom 3 slots to cool the HDDs. I'll have to make a small bracket to attach to the top of the cut piece and the bottom of where it was cut from to better support the modded area. But this won't be a problem at all. I may start taking the case apart today but i won't get to cutting till i can get a day that is in the 50s since all my Dremal cutting has to be done out side.

Well about a month ago i sat down a modded the HDD bays of the case. Its always bugged me how they have all that extra metal and only a small hole to drop the screw threw to secure the HDDs. So i took some time and cut out the extra material.

Also cut a bit off the front and back side to allow cables to be routed threw better. Eventually i'll get SATA cables with 90 degree plugs and mount the HDDs backwards so the cables stay hidden.

Then today i finally got the chance to move the wife's system out of the beige box it was in and into this case. I was using a fairly new FSP PSU in the system. But the cables where all way to short to accommodate the bottom mounting of the PSU. So i had to dig out my POS Hiper Type-R 580W PSU. Since this system doesn't draw allot of power for its 3800 X2 and 7300GT it will be fine. One thing is for sure. The Hiper has less cables then the Corsair in my other system. Thus keeping the cable managment looking even better. Plus it was allot easier to put the right panel back on with only 4 cables there.
