XP, Vista, going all the way back to probably 95, these operating system license up to dual sockets. (Don't quote me pre-XP, and this info is going by an article I read a while back.) XP and Vista look at the license, look at the hardware, and says that dual core is one socket, dual quad is two sockets, two single core is dual socket, etc.
    Think, Hold that thought, Complete.

d3d10.dll, d3dx10.dll, d3dx10.dll, dxgi.dll. I don’t believe those 4 files would produce global rendering . My impressions of what users have said they could not run dx10 games successfully. I would assume this is because native dx10 run in vista, renders the whole scene as one object, xp rendering single objects in a dx10 environment would have serious issues.

I have managed to get as far as to get crysis to attempt to load the DX10 libraries, but it fails with D3D10.dll with the following message:

"The procedure entry point D3D10ReflectShader could not be located in the dynamic link library d3d10.dll"

Interestingly, M$ says that this function is deprecated and has been replaced, no wonder the game is slow in DX10, it's running old code

Can someone with vista send me a copy of d3d10.dll? It's in system32 (well maybe not in vista x64, dunno about that).

That one isn't a valid windows image... apparently. I am guessing it's because it's for vista, but it could just be that it's screwed up. It is about 3x bigger than the one I'm currently using.

The one in my Vista directory is 1239 kB. What size are you looking for?

Any that isn't 533kb like mine. And one that isn't the same as that site hosts. I'm just trying to find one that might contain the correct code for the D3D10ReflectShader which mine doesn't.

32-bit one. I didn't try the 64-bit one, as I assumed it would be incompatible anyway. I'll give it a test just to be sure.

Yep, I got the invalid windows image thing again, so it seems that site hosts the 64-bit version.

anything with d3d10 or d3dx10 would be cool Thanks for the help btw, this probably isn't going to work, but it's worth a shot.

    EDIT: Oh and dxgi.dll

As I expected, that fixed the issue, and moved onto the next one Why can't it just list all the problems rather than just one at a time Now it's a problem with msvcrt.dll which has nothing specifically to do with DX10 I don't think. It's another issue with finding the procedure entry point. *sigh*

I'll be out of town for a few days, so somebody else will have to take up dll posting.
