Need mp3 Player

My brother is looking for a mp3 player, but he's cheap and says he won't go above $80. He's looking for the largest possible size, and it only needs to support .mp3's, not FLAC or any other music files. I suggested a 30gb zune for $100, but he's way to cheap and is sticking with the under $80.

Suggestions?

Sandisk's Sansa players are pretty good, though I haven't looked at their high-capacity ones. The flash ones are good though.

I've got a 30GB iPod Photo I'm in the process of lapping and selling, I'd let that go for $60.

Well, that's a TOUGH budget. Have you checked out used players perhaps? You could probably get a "ghetto" iPod on eBay for under $80:

20gb ipod PE435AABA white - eBay (item 330276166997 end time Oct-09-08 10:28:44 PDT)
Apple iPod Fourth Gen. (20 GB, M9282LL/A) MP3 Player - eBay (item 220289958807 end time Oct-09-08 07:54:48 PDT)
Good Ipod 20GB MP3 Player 100% Working 7 Day Warranty - eBay (item 150302419696 end time Oct-10-08 16:41:43 PDT)
iPod 20g photo 4th gen White - eBay (item 230299044590 end time Oct-10-08 19:39:37 PDT)
Apple iPod? Fifth Gen. Black (30 GB, MA446LL/A) Digi... - eBay (item 290266300729 end time Oct-08-08 19:31:36 PDT) <-- might get lucky on something like this.

Anyway, good for your brother for sticking to a budget. That's an important skill to have in life if you don't want to be broke all the time.

Sandisk Sansa FTW! 8GB are around $50 and they play movies and sound quite a bit better than iPods.

Cheap, awesome, awesome, and cheap!

No sense digging in the bargain barrel for an iPod that wasn't even good to begin with, being used doesn't make them any better

Woot.com about once a week

Looks like they are back up around $60 right now.

Quite a few "completed listings" for $45-60 on eBay. But seriously...Sandisk 6/8GB will be on Woot.com within a week I'm sure and they don't sell out uber fast.

Well he has a Sansa E200 and its his 3rd one, and all of them so far have either stopped working completely or won't link to his computer, and now this one he can't sync music with it. So idk if he'll go for another, but thanx for the suggestions. But YMAA, my brother's not home now, but he might be interested. I know though he will want to know the battery life, cause thats one reason he's tired of his Sansa

And for him, sticking with his budget isn't so much a good thing, hes EXTREMELY cheap. Its gotten to the point he won't take his gf anywhere cause he has to spend money.

If he is breaking Sansa's he won't do well with an iPod. Plenty of family members/friends have had both and the Queens Of Destruction (my sisters) all have Sansas and haven't broken them.

I tend to avoid companies that have things fail on me as well, even if I know it was my fault or that it was just bad luck

I'm not sure of the current generation iPod's durability, but I remember Wired magazine (a couple years ago I think) reported that the average iPod user returned/RMAed his or her iPod 1.1 times

I was on Facebook back when it was solid...just a wall, a few pics and a few things about me. I liked that only college students could use it, now anyone can and it is the Myspace of the future, I hate it with a passion...

Last I checked I had about 340 pending friend requests and 5,000 some messages unread People probably think I'm just a dick and not returning their stuff.
