I wonder how well a 9800 pro would run crysis... I'm sure the 256-bit memory bus would help it, but only 128mb VRAM is gonna make it cringe.

Yeah, I think it would scream, wet itself, and then go cry home to mommy.

It would kill any 128-bit card while loading the game... until you reached the 128mb usage and started to use system RAM.

Having seen what Oblivion did to my 9800 Pro, and seeing what Crysis does to the 9800GX2 which makes Oblivion look as GPU challenging as UT (original), I'm guessing the CPU test in 3dMark06 would have better framerates than the 9800 Pro in Crysis.

I have a 9800 Pro but no AGP system to plug it into. We should at least give it a fair shot with an early A64 or maybe a Conroe on that ASrock board with AGP support.

    Anyone see this?

GT200 to become 9900GTX and 9900GX2, launch date set to July - Expreview.com

The next-gen GPU is, ironically enough, not going to be given a new name, but is rather going to be named as if it is an upgrade to the 9800 series! I guess nVidia just don't like being predictable (i.e. rational).

Naw, what's a real cool name is a GT500, as in Shelby GT500. Now I wouldn't mind having one of those, although it wouldn't fit in my computer. On the other hand, my computer would fit into it.

They can afford it. Maybe that's why AMD likes to keep things on the backburner, they can't afford those tickets

The odometer rolls over, and we'll all be buying the 0800GTX.
