    9800gtx Hits The Egg

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

    With prices like they are.

    8800gtx $289
    8800gts $229
    8800GT $189

I wonder if $329 is such a good deal?

The 9800GTX looks to be just a die shrink. Unless you want 3-way sli. Why spend the $$ on it. I think the 8800GTX with 768mb or 8800GTS @ $229 are better deals. Correct me if I'm wrong.

There are always people who want the "best". Why do you think the 8800 ultra was made?

    I'm just not sure it's the best. I would like to see a $289 8800GTX vs $329 9800GTX review.

They basically are 8800GTS-512MBs with faster clocks and an extra SLI connector so you can run triple-SLI with 780i/790i boards.

Cool, I feared they were some manufacturer that thought anyone can make a video card.

    I'm usually a big nvidia supporter. I have a 5900U, 6800GT, 7900GT, 8800GT+GTS.

    This 9XXX stuff is garbage.

Even when the 9600GT gives the most FPS per dollar? Pretty solid card for $145...

A picture's worth $40, isn't it? No wait, I can download a pretty picture, print it out and stick on the card myself for about a dollar.

This looks like someone at Nvidia is getting desparate. Wonder if they know something about ATI's 4xxx series that worries them?
