Sounds like time for a "cease and desist order" or a harassment injuction. There are few things worse than lawyers playing loose with the law.
University administrators note that there has not been a recorded increase in file-sharing activity, and – unlike in the past – many of the RIAA’s notices don’t have any corresponding activity in university traffic logs.
“We are not sure [whether] what we have is an allegation of copyright infringement or an allegation of possible future illegal behavior,” said IU associate vice president of IT Mark Bruhn. “The whole thing is very concerning, to be frank. We don't know why they are doing this and I'm not sure they know what they are doing.”
The content industry is pushing initiatives that compel public schools to action after a threshold volume of notices is met, said Luker. Such legislation is currently working its way through a number of states, including Illinois and Tennessee.

^ This. RIAA can diaf.
That is a pre-cursory move on the part of the RIAA..
We warned them of possible litigation but they did not cease or prevent the activities.
Mark my words.. They are now hoping to get the big fish.. The Universities.. They are going to say they are enabling the students..
You watch!!

I find it VERY telling that the RIAA has always intentionally avoided sending these to Harvard. Even though they are in the top 10 for file sharing.
The RIAA is scared to death of suing them b/c they have the largest endowment in the world, and probably some of the smartest lawyers in history.![]()

Do you have a link to some real evidence for that I'm sure there a few lawyers who would love to pursue a selective prosection case is the start going after universities. Not of course that we would wish ill upon the RIAA but in fairness it would simply have to be done.![]()

The RIAA sees the writing on the wall and knows they are on the verge of oblivion. They are just trying to go down kicking and screaming. F*** them.
