You forgot a very important one: performance! As far as I can tell the 512MB HD2900 frequently outperforms the 1GB version.

    Are you kidding?
There are tons of games that REQUIRE 2GB memory for the video card such as Minesweaper & Pong or Sega Genesis Emulator...

    you forgot tetris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But who would want a 2gb card? EASY. Those that are stupid and want to brag to their friends, and diamond knows there are plenty of those people in this world, otherwise they wouldn't bother. But I could think of one practicle use, from what I've seen the r600 gaming version is far more powerful than the firegl version, so you could use hacked drivers to try to use a 2gb version as a video editing card and in that case you easily could make use of the memory, but you'd be using hacked drivers which is hard to say how good they are

actually that's incorrect, the hd 2900xt is not a pro card, the hd 2x00 signifies that as it means this card is intended for gaming. The fireGL cards are the ones intended for professional use. It's okay to correct people, but try to avoid flaming as you were also wrong with your statement

Well, the ad copy specifically says that "the card is mainly intended for professionals (video editing, etc)" so I'd guess its safe to say its a pro card.

Then again, wonder how a couple of these tied together in Crossfire would do on games? Might at last give me a good reason to get that mega-sized monitor. (Just joking)
