w00t more hd 2900xt drivers

This one will fix a lot of bugs and give the card up to a 16% performance increase in hdr supporting games (which was one area that it was getting killed, maybe the card can eventually catch up to the gtx at the rate that ati is boosting it's performance driver wise)

Totally wanna see these go head-to-head against the 8800GTS 640 and GTX.......

Interestingly enough, here in Canada they are priced EXACTLY THE SAME as the GTS 640. With the price difference out of the equation now, I wonder what's left to compare......performance, power draw, heat, and drivers.

Yeah I still see the GTS-640 cheaper here in Canada too.

There's exceptions of course, but those are like the $600 GF7900GTX/X1900XTs out there, not something to base recommendations on.

This is the first driver update where I couldn't grab the file, it said 'unavailable', weird. I had no trouble with the betas, but prefer to run the WHQL finals on a day to day, and I couldn't grab those yesterday at home.

Not much difference in HL2 but slight boost (~7%) in Prey.

Would've been nice if they used Crossfire since that was one of the areas of benefit mentioned in the driver notes.

Hopefully Hexus will take their look, and more info will come out over time. But considering that these are the 8.38 generation some of this has already been seen with the Betas.

Interesting. Well, any boost is a good thing IMO. If AMD can keep eeking small performance gains every release I'll be impressed.
