Welcome Back!

I apologize for not getting this up and done sooner. Needless to say the forums, and the front page got hacked, we since then have locked things down, and things appear to be better over all.

I was able to get the front page done sooner, but the forums with all of its data was MUCH more difficult to deal with. Needless to say, I just finished it! YAHOO!

Just in time with Facebook about to take a nose dive, and doing other crazy things to people. (Censorship, etc etc).

  • Why Apple did what they did for the Mac Pro design.

This guy is obviously all for the new Mac Pro, but what do you think of Apple's reasons for how they designed the machine? It actually makes sense, at least to me.

I think this is successful... If you really think about what they did and everything, they took some VERY good parts, and put it into a machine that was as small as it is... I mean honestly It's done pretty well and most importantly things can be UPGRADED. So its not fixed.. Later on if they come out with other video cards, you can get those and install them... The most important thing to think about is how quite it is... It is absolutely silent.

Can not lie. The system is pretty slick for what it is. I will give Apple props for this. Hope this pushes Dell/HP/IBM/etc to rethink about the way they build their workstations. I know some people will hate it (probably the ones that do not like Windows 8) because of the change, but you can not deny it. If it works, and works well, and still can do what today systems can do and still be upgradeable, why not?

I like the look and design of it. I cannot lie about that. I still wouldn't buy one though. Price is too much for me to consider even if I did like Apple. Oh and I don't like Win 8 either. I am not exactly a software person to begin with.

Honestly it's a high end workstation for heavy duty editing. Consumers would be stupid for buying one.

I don't think it would be a good idea for normal consumers to buy one of these, but you could see where Apple, or other companies could mark a SFF system to compete in the desktop market.. Yeah it maybe a little more expensive than a traditional computer but honestly... People will pay for niceness...

Many consumers aren't too smart. They see that it is apple and feel they must have it. I know this because people were talking about it in trade chat on WoW just a few days ago.

I do not remember where, but I know I read an article stating that this Apple workstation is actually comparable to HP and Dell workstations when it comes down to the specifications and pricing.

As others have said though, for the average consumer, this would be stupid. But to the ones that have money to burn, I would not blame them for buying one. E-peen anyone?

Definitely an impressively thought out design. Not sure why they would design it that way, but yeah...I like the lit up part on the back. I like that it's apparently made in the US, and not just assembled here.

Yes, sadly there will be. Just like there will be people that will buy it to play WoW on. I saw the comments in trade that day and couldn't help but laugh. Needless to say I pointed out to the person more or less how much of an idiot they were. I have a habit of doing that to morons in trade. Gotta love the low pop servers sometimes.
