Welcome Back!

I apologize for not getting this up and done sooner. Needless to say the forums, and the front page got hacked, we since then have locked things down, and things appear to be better over all.

I was able to get the front page done sooner, but the forums with all of its data was MUCH more difficult to deal with. Needless to say, I just finished it! YAHOO!

Just in time with Facebook about to take a nose dive, and doing other crazy things to people. (Censorship, etc etc).

  • Impulse Buy: Fractal Design Define R4

It was $98 after $20 promocode, shipping, and tax, couldn't pass it up. Yea $98 that could have gone to my car, or actual hardware, but I just built a rig with this case for a friend of a friend and I absolutely loved it. So yup, ordered and OTW.

I'll make an unboxing video and whatnot while I'm at it.

Fractal Design Define R4 with Window Black Pearl Silent ATX Mid Tower Case - Newegg.com

I love Fractal cases, brilliant Scandinavian design.

It's not flimsy at all though. The build quality and finish is pretty much the best I've seen in a while.

My file server build uses a Fractal Design Arc Mini case and I was surprised at how nice it was for a (relatively) cheap case. I would have gone with a Define case as it was slightly cheaper but I wanted the front ventilation for the hard drives, and there wasn't room for a door where the case would be located.

There is front ventilation though. The sides are slotted around face of frame that the door fits into. Two fans fit on the front and it gets plenty of airflow yet stays uber quiet. Also I don't ever really need to open the door so might aswell have it there keeping it all looking sleek. I don't use a CD/DVD drive and USB ports are up top so yea. I've built 2 comps for people with Fractal cases actually, one was an Arc Midi and the other this same case. Loved them both but I prefer this because of how quiet and sleek it is. I was thinking about getting the one without the window on the side, but it this window'd one was cheaper with promocode.

Am I supposed to be OOGLING the the case or your racing setup... I can't tell which

Honestly I really like that case, except for the case door on the front, I seriously hate doors on the front of the computer.
I used to have a Tt Aguila back around 2009 and the case door was so annoying I took it off and threw it in the box.
On the bright side of the story though, after using it for 3 years (and keeping it in really good shape) I was able to sell it
used for more than I paid for it new

Anyway, it looks good, very sleek design for the case and it looks good with the rest of your setup.

Thanks! Yea I'd normally agree but with this case I don't mind a door because there is nothing there for me to use. USB stuff is on the top, I don't even have a DVD/CD drive in my computer, never need one. Only reason to open it up for me is to clean out the dust filter or swap out fans. The door is uber smooth when you open it and the magnet holds it very tight. It actually oddly does work in quieting the case (has sound deadening material on it) even though the sides around it are perforated/slotted for air flow.

                  Fractal is awesome <3
I'm happy with my R3: I see no advantages in upgrading to a wider R4
