Welcome Back!

I apologize for not getting this up and done sooner. Needless to say the forums, and the front page got hacked, we since then have locked things down, and things appear to be better over all.

I was able to get the front page done sooner, but the forums with all of its data was MUCH more difficult to deal with. Needless to say, I just finished it! YAHOO!

Just in time with Facebook about to take a nose dive, and doing other crazy things to people. (Censorship, etc etc).

Noise does not bother me to be honest, it's morely the technology available that make such setups a possibillity, I may not need this hardware, but it's more like a hobby of interest and even if it may take me till the year's end to fund this project, it will still be a monster none the less, Dual HD 6990's will give it some suitable lifespan as well.

As for beating people, that ahs never been my intention, it morely my interest in high end Server /workstation hardware, mainly CPU's and 2CPU Motherboards of the Opteron class.

All in all it's something I always wanted to build and so far it is all going as planned, Project G34 will be a success, it just needs time hehe

        • I know, necro, but I was going back and looking at this thread, wow, ALL the nostalgia. Anyone got any new pictures they want to share? I'll post some up soon.

Edit: Here we go. Quick shot taken with my phone.

          • I got an new Filco keyboard and Fiio headphone DAC/amp. I find that as time goes on I'm more content with what's under the hood and more willing to spend money on what's outside the hood since that's what I'm in contact with most of the time. My system is literally the same as the day I built it, except I scaled back on the 3.7GHz/1.55V overclock on the Phenom II X3 720 recently because I don't really need it.

However, I was thinking of picking up an Nvidia card recently because I wanted to try out CUDA.

Yea I got a Leopold Tenkeyless MX Clear board like a year or two ago, and I love my Zowie Gear AM mouse. I also just got a 27" 2560x1440 S.Korean Samsung PLS display.

Seriously, everything it seams is starting to support OpenCL. HD9xxx series cards are right around the corner it seams, and even so HD79xx cards are priced pretty well right now.

Anyways. I took a few pictures of the rig just now.

Also don't let my random speaker setup fool you, it actually sounds pretty good. The Logitechs have great highs and decent mids, Bose have good mids and lows but not very good at highs, and I have two subs under the table one on either side, and two logitech sets behind me. It actually sounds pretty good to be honest.
