Welcome Back!

I apologize for not getting this up and done sooner. Needless to say the forums, and the front page got hacked, we since then have locked things down, and things appear to be better over all.

I was able to get the front page done sooner, but the forums with all of its data was MUCH more difficult to deal with. Needless to say, I just finished it! YAHOO!

Just in time with Facebook about to take a nose dive, and doing other crazy things to people. (Censorship, etc etc).

  • While Mt. Gox may have been hit by hackers, there's a part of me that wonders if the operator(s) of Mt. Gox made off with the money. I remember an incident in the boating world a few decades ago where a boat dealer in the San Francisco area sold several boats many times over without the boats ever leaving the dock over a span of weeks. He loaded up one boat for a long cruise and took off for South America one night with all the cash. As best I know, he was never caught. Its hard enough to defend against an inside job that deals in real property, but how can you defend against an inside job dealing with something that exists only in software?

      • The crazy part is how resilient coin is to all this stuff happening. Still floating around ~$650/BTC on BTC-E.com and Litecoin is still ~$16.50. Beast.

        • I'm curious if it's still feasible to be mining bitcoins/litecoins if you aren't already invested in it. Last I looked it would require a crazy outpour of capital just earn more than electric but that was a while ago.

          • Unless you build a specialized mining rig, I think its hopeless to get more back than what the electricity costs now. I lost the few coins I had when MtGox folded and I just haven't felt like taking the gamble again.

            • I actually got asked this the other day... "Is it worth it?!" It can be worth it as long as long as you do not pay for power. The difficulty is so high, that it is very hard to really make currency with it. Do it to diversify sure.. Do it to make something.. probably not going to happen.
